Most collective agreements contain regulations for situations in which the need for temporary layoff changes from what was communicated.

The Finnish Employment Contracts Act does not decree on cancelling, rescheduling or discontinuing temporary layoff. However, it is clear that the Finnish Employment Contracts Act states that if the need for temporary layoff ends, the temporary layoff should be cancelled.

The employer is obligated to notify the temporarily laid-off employee of the end of the temporary layoff at least seven days before the work commences. After this, the employer should again be available to the employer.
