Elections in Finland

Elections in Finland

Wage earners' issues are decided outside collective bargaining. It is the task of the wage-earners' movement to ensure that social decision-making discusses the issues that are important to us. Trade Union Pro participates in the national elections with its own election programmes and by putting forward candidates who are members of the confederation.

Parliamentary election themes 2019

In the parliamentary elections, votes were cast on issues such as the development of working life, the creation of new jobs and the quality of services. The decision to make Finland carbon-neutral by 2035 was taken, and there is a lot of work for the members of Pro to do. See here for the government's programme objectives (in Finnish).

Municipal elections 2017

In the 2017 municipal elections, 414 Pro members stood as candidates, of which almost one in four, or 120 Pro members, were elected to municipal councils. The next municipal elections will take place in June 2021. We encourage our members to stand for the next elections!
